Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies intended to improve performance in metrics such as energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

THINKING GREEN

Red Rock Consulting’s President and Project Engineer, Kristi Bumpas, is the only geotechnical engineer in the state of Oklahoma who is a LEED Accredited Professional (AP).  There are many foundation alternatives and construction practices that can be initiated by the geotechnical engineer and incorporated into the project. Each geotechnical engineering report from Red Rock Consulting, regardless of the project’s LEED status, includes an “Environmental Considerations” section which addresses sustainable design ideas.

In addition to LEED accreditation and sustainable project ideas, Red Rock Consulting is a steward of the environment by providing all proposals and most reports in electronic format. Hard copies of reports, when necessary, are printed double sided on 100% recycled paper. All office supplies are made of recycled materials, when available, including the computer system.  All paper products in the office are recycled and a hybrid vehicle is utilized for company travel.
