Red Rock / DSO Christmas 2018

It’s not a holiday without the Red Rock Consulting / DSO Christmas party!!  Guests were welcomed to the North Pole by the cast of a Christmas murder mystery, who looked a lot like some of their coworkers.  The acting got steadily worse as the night went on, but in the end, 2 teams were able to figure out the guilty character.  So how did we figure out which team won the cash prize?  With an impromptu Christmas carol-off, of course!  We found out Jordan actually can be embarrassed and some people don’t know the words to Frosty the Snowman.  🙂

There are lots of new faces on the Red Rock / DSO crew lately.  We got most of them together for a hot lunch on a cold day.  Daniel, Dylan, Todd, Kristi, Brad, Mike, Bennett and Blake all enjoyed some mexican food and heat.

E-Week 2017

Another Engineering Week, another opportunity to shape young minds.  This year, Jason helped judge the Toothpick Bridge competition at the Science Museum once again while the whole crew chatted with elementary school students.  Pre-K and Kindergarten students learned about the Earth’s layers, basic geology and the different types of engineering.  They enjoyed learning about the Earth’s layers as they used colored play doh to make their very own globes.  Second graders got a field trip to Red Rock Consulting’s office to learn about soil sampling and testing.  They “cored” into layers of cake, candy, frosting and other sweet treats to get a tasty sample to eat as they learned about geotechnical engineering.  They also explored the lab and performed real soils testing with the lab guys.  It was a great E-week and the thank you letters were priceless!!

Downtown Drilling

Drilling the OKC Boulevard, formerly I-40

Drilling the OKC Boulevard, formerly I-40

Red Rock Consulting recently completed drilling on the new downtown Boulevard in Oklahoma City.  The proposed project alignment is along the same route as the former Interstate 40.  The old I-40 was demolished following the opening of the new alignment of I-40, which is located approximately 1 mile south.  The change in the Interstate alignment and proposed creation of the Boulevard has spurred many development opportunities in a campaign called the “Core to Shore”.  The “Core to Shore” refers to the new development from the “core” of downtown Oklahoma City to the “shore” of the Oklahoma River.
