Downtown Drilling

Drilling the OKC Boulevard, formerly I-40

Drilling the OKC Boulevard, formerly I-40

Red Rock Consulting recently completed drilling on the new downtown Boulevard in Oklahoma City.  The proposed project alignment is along the same route as the former Interstate 40.  The old I-40 was demolished following the opening of the new alignment of I-40, which is located approximately 1 mile south.  The change in the Interstate alignment and proposed creation of the Boulevard has spurred many development opportunities in a campaign called the “Core to Shore”.  The “Core to Shore” refers to the new development from the “core” of downtown Oklahoma City to the “shore” of the Oklahoma River.

A RRC/DSO crew spent the week battling difficult rock conditions at a bridge rehabilitation project in McCurtain County, Oklahoma.  Highly fractured bedrock of variable consistency (moderately hard to very hard) and composition (sandstone, chert) resulted in longer than usual coring time.  We are very fortunate and thankful to have great drillers!

Red Rock Consulting and DSO celebrate 4 years!

Red Rock Consulting celebrated 4 years in business at an open house on July 12, 2013.  Drilling Services of Oklahoma (DSO), clients, family and friends were all on hand to participate in the festivities.  RRC was also celebrating the addition of the new soils testing laboratory and 2 new employees – Cody McCubbin and Tommy Bounds.  Thank you to all RRC employees for a great 4 years!!!!!!

It Beats Working

Red Rock and DSO employees enjoyed a little time off at Broken Bow Lake. Good times and great stories to tell. Maybe next year Jason will remember to fill out a vacation request…
